Seminar
Overview
The five days Field
trip & Seminar (FTS) held at the Luzon part of the Philippines specifically
at the National Capital Region in the city of Manila was a great adventure for
us students of Information Technology & Computer Science students also. It was a jump-packed of activities & too
much learning that really molds us and helps us to understand more the world of
Information technology. The seminars
that we had attended were very informative and also some of the speakers were
really motivating. The said Field trip
encourages us to do more in our studies and become more innovative. Innovations are the most money-maker thing in
our society now which is very favorable to us as IT professionals at the
future.
I admit that those
companies or government facilities that we’ve visited is my first time to be in
that place so that is why I am amazed to see how the things work there, how
they get things work, especially at the MMDA Traffic Engineering department
wherein there is a vast live coverage on every street of the Manila City. It was so amazing how they handle traffic
there, it is really hard to think how they do it but I must give them thumbs up
for making their best. As an overall
seminar view, it was all informative and really helps us students to become
more oriented to what is happening in the real-world. It was all a great exposure.
To be in a new place
far from home is a great experience, it was also my first time to be out of
town miles away from my home town Davao City, I miss everything about Davao
when we were there at the Manila City but in terms of progress in buildings,
works well I must say that Manila now is a very fast growing city because I
what I have observed during the seminar there is the people where always
catching up the time, no one wants to be late stuck up in the middle of EDSA
street. But I know that Davao is on its
way to become the next center of economy here in the Philippines.
I am also amazed to
the high rise buildings their owned by the elite families in the
Philippines. It feels like you can reach
the sky if you went at the roof top of the building. The city is expanding not in width but in
height because the trend home there in Manila City is a “condominium”, why?
Because people their find it cheap to stay and there are also a lot of good offers
when you stay at the condo. The Seminar
teaches me on how to become more knowledgeable on the path that we choose, the
seminar sharpens our weapons to meet success at the future.
Day
1
Today, I went on a seminar to
Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Bicutan, Taguig and Social
Security System (SSS) in East Avenue, Quezon City.
What
I learned?
Straight
from the breakfast at the “Mcdonalds” in front of the Ninoy Aquino
International Airport we went to the Department of Science and Technology
(DOST) in Bicutan, Taguig. It was a
great fun riding the bus because it’s kinda traffic there but we were all ready
for it. Honestly, as we landed there, I
remembered my parents and missed them but well I coped up with that because I
am ready to take this new experiences far from my home town, far from my love
ones.
As we landed in the
building of the Department of Science & Technology we were amazed because
we visited one of the oldest building of DOST in the Philippines. One of the things that I can remember during
the seminar at the DOST is their “Project NOAH”. There is a proud sensation revolving inside
the room knowing from our mentor Mr. Gamboa that one of the pioneer developers
of the Project NOAH is from our school (University of Southeastern
Philippines). Project NOAH is an
innovation of a son to make sure that his parents were safe. How does it work? Well it detects upcoming
rain falls that might become a typhoon that could harm people, through that
innovation; he can alarm his parents to evacuate early so that they will be
saved. It is a very great idea.
Ever
since I was a child, I always dreamed of becoming a scientist but I guess it
wasn’t really for me so I gave up that idea but thank God, I’ve got the chance
to enter the Department of Science and Technology. It was a challenge for us students to
continue the development of science and technology in our beloved country
Philippines because after all the beneficiaries of that development will be our
future generations. I have also learned
that they are conducting scholarships for high-grade student. It is a good
opportunity for those poor students like me so that I will have a chance to go
to college and pick the course I want.
After
the DOST adventure, we visit the “Social Security System” (SSS) located at East
Avenue, Quezon City. Social Security
System office plays a big role in every Pilipino here in the Philippines
because they cater the pensions of every Pilipino. We have learned the history of the building
(SSS), how does it work, and why it existed.
They also encourage us to register so that we can start paying early;
well I have registered already during summer because I know that the benefits
will be very good at the future.
I
have learned that pensions are very important, while were still young, we must
learn how to save our money because we don’t know what the future is so it is
better to be always ready. Having a
pension is good because it will also help your love ones when the time comes
that you are in a bad health condition or eventually die, if you have the
pension, your relative beneficiaries will receive the pension and it will help
them a lot.
I
guess I need to start saving now on SSS, secure money for insurance that I will
get someday when I’m old.
What
I liked?
What
I like in DOST is they were all making their best to gather new data that could
help us students and all Pilipino people, the people there were very
innovative. And it is also nice to know
that most of the employees there are coming from Mindanao. They’ve got high respect to the Information
Technology & Computer Science people here in Mindanao which I find very
great because it erase the denied racial discrimination happening here in our
country. We know how the northern part
of the country reacts when they hear or know that you came from the southern
part of the country, it is a very stereo-type mind set which I believe that it
was slowly fading now, especially now that most people of the Northern Part
loves our City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to be the next President of the
Philippines.
What
I like in the SSS is there gallery because there are a lot of good paintings
there and aside from that is their mission on every Pilipino people which is to
have a good retirement life, pensioned and just live life. It is a great thing to know htat you will
gain something when the time comes that you will retire, the fruit of you
labors, what a sweet life.
What
I didn’t like?
Well
I guess that I am just too imaginative or just set a high expectation on what I
am going to see (I am referring to the building of DOST), I thought that it was
all high-tech there but I forgot that we are still here in the
Philippines. But I believe that it will
improve at the future through unified help of every people.
At
the Social Security System seminar, I thought that the seminar will be more of
technical things but the most discussed thing is the history of their building
which I know that it was also important.
Day
2
Today, I went on a seminar to IBM
Phils., Ayala Techno-Hub, Quezon City and also to the Accenture Philippines.
What
I learned?
What
I like in the IBM building it’s too big and very cool, so we go inside one of
their lecture rooms for the seminar about the IBM “Blue Mix”. If there is a list of cool innovation in the
developer tools well I guess Blue Mix will be on the top 20 because it makes
the life of the developer to become easier.
The program that could take days will be programmed in just a matter of
minute when we use the “Blue Mix”. There
are a lot of offerings inside the “Blue Mix” that could really help the developers
on any field of programming, as far as I can remember there are more or less
50+ types of offers now on their site.
As the lecture goes, the speaker introduces the artificial intelligence
named as “Watson”. We were all amazed by
Watson as its first use was to be a player on a game named “Jeopardy” (famous
game in America). It was task to beat
the champion players. I was amazed how
it works because it really answers the right question and does not make any
answer to the question if it does not really know the answer to the
question. To make Watson work, it takes
a whole room to be install the servers.
It is a successful invention of the IBM Company. Watson uses the “Cloud” server. The speaker also introduces the trend now on
the net which is the IOT or the “Internet of Things” by the use of
“Arduino”. It was too cool to use
Arduino tool because you can do a lot of things like you can switch on or off
any appliance inside your home though you’re at a very far place away from
home. As a presentation, the speaker
shows to us his practice tool to Arduino, he uses his own website then it was
connected to the Arduino as the switch to the light bulbs. I really wish to have one like that.
We
nowadays are hearing a lot from call center agents, we know how big their
salary is but some are not amuse by their work, thinking it was a cheap one to
have as a work but sorry because we can’t deny the fact that they were the ones
now who’s leading the industry and most specially has a high salary than a
normal work.
What
I have learned at the Accenture is they are not a “Call Center” company however
it was a part of their business. We
students really think that they are but not until they introduce to us their
history and what they serve as a company.
They are a company wherein a lot of innovation is happening and they’ve
got a lot of companies inside the City and as what they have explained, it was
a contingency plan so that if the other company closes then there is still a
lot branch company that they can work on.
They showed to us there mobile application which uses Digital Image
Processing that can help the user to know the right size of the shirt for their
body which I find nice.
I
wish that I could make my own robot by using the Arduino and blueMix, it just
gave a whole new idea of what the world will be years from now. Developing this kind of technology will
result into like a very technological future, well what else will I expect
about the future.
What
I liked?
What I like about the
two companies is they both offer a good work wherein we can really use and
enhance our knowledge about technology and enhance it more. They are not just a company that aims to grab
a lot of money, they aim to help every individual as well, and they treat each
other as a friend especially in the company of the Accenture wherein they call
each other on “First-name” basis. I find
it nice because it makes the employees become more comfortable with each other
and it really builds not just work mates but also friendship to everyone.
What
I didn’t like?
It’s not really
that I don’t like the company but the IBM made us wait for 2 hours before the
seminar starts, well we all understand how the traffic works at Manila City so
we forgive of course. But I believe that
they must prepare some contingency plan like to give substitute speakers
because it made us so delayed on our next activity which results to eating the
lunch inside the bus which I find very hard because the bus is moving and we
can’t eat properly. Well it’s a good
experience as well.
Day
3
Today, I went on a seminar to
Philippine Youth Congress Information Technology (Y4IT)
What
I learned?
The
Philippine Youth Congress Information Technology is a great event for us
students of courses related to the computer world. It was a whole day event which was attended
by thousands of students from different parts of the country. I am amazed to the things that I have learned
during the presentations of different speakers from different big
companies. The project of the Microsoft
Company (International) which is the “Hololens” really captivates my interest
because it gives a new definition of user experience. Imagine the world moves in virtual reality
just by wearing that glass or eye-wear.
I was like in the movie of Iron Man where in you can control data
without opening your computer. I also
learned about the new trend which is the “Internet of Things”, it is so amazing
now that we can control things inside our houses though we are miles away from
home just by using various devices and a bit of coding. There is also a discussion about gaming
stuffs; it is really cool because it helps us specifically in our programming
3(Android game development) subject now wherein our project is to make an
android mobile game. The speaker shares
how to plan and make the game which makes us realized that we are doing the
wrong thing so we decided to start over so that all will be polish and has
clear planning before making the android game.
There are also a discussion about the Internet Protocol and the history
of the internet which I know already some of the parts.
There
are a lot of discussion there that could help students of Information
Technology and Computer Science for their thesis specially for me whom will
take ITP next year second semester. I
was caught by the discussion about “BlueMix” and “Arduino”. This two thing are a great breakthrough or an
amazing technological development because through that we can use things by the
use of internet of things. Arduino is a
powerful tool when mix up with BlueMix coding.
You can literally make your own robot by using this two, the speaker
gave some examples but he just use some simple one like light bulbs then the
Arduino then he can control the light switching through his computer or even
android phone. What a great thing to
study that.
What
I liked?
I
like the whole thing about the Philippine Youth Congress Information Technology
because it helps us students of Information Technology to be updated on the new
trends of technology. I also like the
exhibits there because there are a lot of freebies and information. I also like the venue of the Philippine Youth
Congress Information Technology which is the SM Annex because it is my dream to
visit the Mall of Asia and it was really big and in terms of spaces it was so
wide and really caters us all.
What
I didn’t like?
There
is nothing that I can say that I didn’t like because it was all good for me and
all of the things there were enjoyed by me and my classmates. Maybe I just don’t like the place outside
because there are a lot of smokers passing by when you walk out the place and
sad to say it wasn’t prohibited and it was all teenagers doing that, my eyes
are just not used to of seeing that.
Day
4
Today, I went on a seminar to MMDA
Traffic Engineering, EDSA,Makati.
What
I learned?
In
our visit to the MMDA, we have witnessed a lot of cool things like there Information
Technology office and their Close Circuit Television cameras with live feeds
from the streets of Metro Manila. It was
discussed their history and the goal and mission of the MMDA. We were also amazed by their Ultra High
definition close circuit cameras which can zoom in or zoom out very
clearly. It was also discussed there
that there are censored streets which amazed me because I never know that thing
until such then. They also explain to us
how the traffic lights functions like how many seconds before it changes color
and what are the algorithm of the traffic lights. They also introduce to us their mobile
application which caters the problems of traffic. As what they have said, through that
application the problem of traffic in Metro Manila is minimize a bit but they
were trying their very best to address that problem.
It
is not the sin of the Metro Manila’s traffic department if there is a clog on
the streets because first of all they were the ones regulating it, the main
problem there that I have observed is the over-crowded street. There are a lot of public utility vehicles
and private motorist. I guess, they
should also control the selling of vehicles to the public. Building new infrastructure is not the sole
solution for traffic, there must be a change, coding system is good but it
wasn’t enough. When I was there at the
Manila’s famous street EDSA, I was shocked by the scenario that happened
because the people are getting out of the bus while in the middle of the street
and they were all walking at the center isle of the street because the traffic
at that time was almost two hours. I
just thank God that I am in Davao City, I thank God that the worst traffic ever
that I experience only took 30 minutes and there is a really great difference
between 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The traffic in Metro
Manila is normally 3 to 4 hours and it will be a miracle if it only takes one
hour of traffic. They also showed to us
some caught videos on the street which contains accidents or traffic enforcers
who collects “Kotong” instead of giving violation tickets. It was so gore to see those people hit by the
big trucks due to careless crossing of the streets. But if there is something that revives the
name of the enforcers, it would be that traffic enforcer who really sits on the
street just to stop the violating driver who really wants to escape his
violation. They also discussed to us
that they are developing another app which is more improve in catering the problem
of the traffic.
What
I liked?
I like their
monitor building wherein they can see all the activities of the streets of
Metro manila as long as there is a camera because it records a lot of things
like crimes, incidents, traffic and a lot more that could help investigation or
could help MMDA to study the traffic and might as well give a concrete and
solid plan that will aid the traffic in Metro Manila.
What
I didn’t like?
I
can’t say that I don’t really like the mobile application that they have built
but I guess they can improve it more but I understand that it will be hard
because Metro manila is really big and planning the whole thing to aid the
traffic will be like passing through the whole of the needle.
Day
5
Today, I went on a seminar to
University of the Philippines Engineering Department & Computer Science
Department, Quezon City.
What
I learned?
I have
witnessed the wideness of their campus and we wander their campus for almost 5
times bigger than the campus of the University of Southeastern Phillipines. I have seen a lot from their school
ground. There are a lot of numbers of
field in their computer science their unlike in our university. They discussed their project thesis which is
discussed by their own students from different fields of their computer sciences. They also discussed their achievements from
their cup stone project and thesis. They
have toured us in their facilities and discussed a bit of information about
science and technology.
I
was amazed by the facility of the University of The Philippines, it was very
organized and well-developed. The
totality of space on their building is a good training ground for their
students, no wonder it feels so elite if you hear someone who graduated from
that prestige school.
What
I liked?
I
like their very organized facilities and division of fields in their
Information Technology and Computer Science.
I like their discussion. I also
like their library because it was wide and clean looking.
What
I didn’t like?
I
thought that there will be a lot of discussion about new technologies but it
was more on their achievements I guess.
I guess it will be best next time if the school will request from the
host of something like seminars about their new technological development
because I believe that it will help a lot to the students.
APPENDIX
What
can I recommend for the improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP?
I recommend
that they will research more companies and more seminars that could help us
students in the field of Information Technology. It will be a good factor for the students to
learn more and be more dynamic when it comes to new technology. Seminars are too helpful for students for
their future thesis or Information Technology Project (ITP). ITP is one of the requirements or project for
the students of Information Technology to graduate the course so it will be
good kick off to have seminars about it.
My
advised to those who will take their advance seminar program in the near
future.
Future
participants must really have to join the Field Trip & Seminar so that will
engage to whole new experiences of their lives.
I will also advice that they will take notes of everything that happened
during their field trip and seminar so that they will be able to write a lot
during their travel reports.
Field
Trip and seminar is not just a subject encoded on our certificate of
registration to just attend and pay, but it is more than a subject because it
will expose us to the real world scenario.
It will teach us on how to become flexible, flexible on your
surroundings and at your comrades. Field
trip and Seminar will also build your socialization, socialization is very
important because if time comes that you will work, you will be meeting a lot
of people with a lot of different attitudes.
It will be good to mix up with your school mates that you haven’t known
yet, be friendly because it’s must if you want to become more divergent to you
work.
You
should really participate on every activity, you didn’t go there to just watch,
and you go there to learn a lot. Taste
all, 21,000 pesos is not easy to find, taste all the food for you parents sake. What I mean is, be curious, seek the
knowledge and wisdom. Go out of your box
and stop hiding from the shades of your fears.
You should come back home with full of stories and learning, after all,
it is what your parents expect to you when you come back home.
Most
especially when you are on the field trip, you should never go alone, follow
orders and don’t be a hard-headed person.
Never leave your comrade, always make sure the safety for you and for
your comrades. Never engage talking to
suspicious strangers that might do something not good to you. Be watchful to your comrade even if they
didn’t ask it to you. Always bring your
confident anywhere you go, if you were on a seminar then never hesitate to ask
questions, asking sensible questions are good.
Remember to always ask the right question so that you will get the right
answer because eventually that answer will become the new question in your head. Always listen to the facilitator, obey any
rules given. And lastly, never become a
burden to others. If all of you were
given a task then do it. Be productive
because it is for your own good anyways.
Sir
Randy and Sir Ariel are just there and always ready for your any type of
problem so don’t hesitate to talk with them.
Don’t give them headaches, instead make them see that you are really
learning from your field trip.
Always
eat your meal, the bus ride are always too long so you better have a full
stomach when you’re on the go.
My advice to those who
will take their advance seminar program in the near future is to be ready to
explore the whole new world and jump out from your boxes and grab the
opportunity to learn new things there. You need to start saving money early so that
you can help your mother for the expenses needed for the field Trip and
Seminar.

Minor Travel Report
Minor Field Trip (Seminar Report)
January 23, 2016
Seminar Overview
The
Minor Field Trip is the continuation of the Bachelor of Science in Information
Technology and Computer Science, it was
converted into a seminar conducted last January 23, 2016 held at the University
of Southeastern Philippines Social Hall, It was a whole day event with lots of
speakers and activities. The event
during that day was a two-part event which is in the morning is the seminar
about the graphic designs and front-end Web development while in the afternoon
is the “Hackathon & Start-Up Pitching Competition” connected to our subject
“Technopreneurship” 1 under the supervision of Mr. Randy S. Gamboa.
I am greatly inspired and my
motivations were fired up as I’ve known that the speakers & judges are also
a graduate of the Institute of Computing in the University of Southeastern
Philippines. They have become an
addition my inspirations to graduate on this university, I know that I will be
facing more and more obstacle while taking my journey in Institute of Computing
but I will not surrender because I have a dream, a dream which is to help my
parents. Listening to the discussion of
the speakers helps me decide to where I really want to work or what I really
want to be under the field of Information Technology.
The event last Saturday was the
awaited event for us students who had joined the Field Trip last September
7-11, 2016 because this will serve as our ticket to comply our INC forms and
get our grade for Field Trip & Seminar.
We honestly admit how happy we are to finally done the activity last
Saturday because our parents are asking too many questions about the Field Trip
& Seminar happenings.
First Speaker
Graphic tools: Fundamentals if design – Mr. Ralph Gideon
The
grand event last Saturday, January 23, 2016, was a great learning ground. It was full of learnings for us students of
Information Technology and Computer Science because the topics discuss by the
two speakers were about Graphic Designs and also the Front-end Web
Development. The first speaker of that
morning discussion was Mr. Ralph Gideon who is a proud Alumnus of the Institute
of Computing in the University of Southeastern Philippines. He discussed some of his achievement as a
professional Graphic designer now in the industry, he also reminisces his
experiences while he was still studying at the University of Southeastern
Philippines.
The emphasis of Mr. Ralph Gideon’s
discussion was the “Graphic Tools” and how to improve graphic designing. As my learning from his discussion, I will
give some points and will try to explain it all.
The first thing that I’ve learned
from Mr. Gideon’s discussion is “Know the Basics”, well I guess on any field of
work we must all undergo to learn the basics of anything so that we could make
things right and simple. We must have at
least have enough knowledge about art when it comes to Graphic Designing. By doing step-by-step learning on graphic
designs then we could enhance our designs and also we could gain more clients
if we do have that good quality of graphic designs. On his discussion, Mr. Gideon ask us this
question, is Artist is equal also to a designer? I admit that at my first look of the question
I’ve got confused so I just listen to his explanation. Mr. Gideon tried to ask some of my classmates
and then he got one answer from my classmate.
Well eventually Mr. Gideon accepted the answer of my classmate because
it is somehow right in thought. As our
speaker Mr. Gideon give the explanation, this is what I’ve learned. Artist is not equal to a designer because
designers tend to do artwork base on the taste or likes of the clients while
artists are freely doing their artworks.
It was like designers are limited to the clients order while artists are
unlimited on making artworks because their creative minds are only the limit.
The second thing that I remembered
is on making graphic designs there are a lot of techniques to make your design
“eye-catching” artwork. “Emphasis is the
key”, you can play with the colors of the objects inside the canvas just like
there is six apples and the sixth one is the only red while the other apples
were all green. You can also play with
the sizes, let’s make the previous example of apples again, there are six
apples and the sixth one is the biggest of them all. For engaging into more complex designs, we
can mix the size and color emphasis depending on the taste of the clients.
Mr. Gideon added that if we want to
become a graphic designer then we must always learn because in the industry
today, there’s a high level of competition between graphic designers. In order to make sure that you will get
clients then you must be unique and have a trademark. We must have a cutting edge designs, we must
not follow the trends. Adaptation is
good, as time passes by, people are becoming more observant when it comes to
design. The trend of today might be old
already by tomorrow because technology is evolving too fast.
When it comes to designing, we must
find our own ways on doing graphic designs.
Mr. Gideon added that it’s alright to copy artworks for practice
purposes but we must not copy and produce it to the public. We must aim to enhance our skills and
abilities if we want to earn more money and gain more clients because clients
means money.
Second Speaker
Front End Web Development – Ms. Shannen Yu Spar
The
second part of the discussion is about the “Front-End Web Development” wherein
the speaker is a very beautiful lady from the University of Immaculate
Conception which is now a professional Front-End Web Developer Ms. Shannen Yu
Spar. We are alive! I can tell that
while she is discussing, I can see from the faces of my classmates how they
like the topics discuss by Ms. Spar.
Ms.
Spar explained to us deeper the differences between “Front-End Web Developer”
and “Back-End Web Developer”, we already know the concept of the two things
because it was introduced to us already by our teachers. It is important for us to know where our
strength really is when it comes to real world work. We must know if we are a back-end programmer
or a front-end programmer. The topic
discussion of Ms. Spar focuses on Front-end, she elaborate the functionalities
of a front-end developer.
A
good front-end design must be compatible to all browsing software including the
most hated browser “Internet Explorer”.
A good website must load easily, front-end developer must also secure to
interpret the back-end program. And when
it comes to Front-end design, “User Interface” is very important. The User Interface must be friendly to the
users so that they can use or access the website easily. Front-end design must give satisfaction to
the users so that it will result to gain more products. There are a lot of tools use for front-end
design, she also mention that we must have the basic knowledge about Javascript,
jquery, PHP, etc. and be creative in our designs. She also said that we must not remain
stagnant in our skills, we must keep on learning every day because the
competition is on hype inside the grounds of the industry.
We
must be creative on our designs and make sure that our works are not the same
as the other designers do, we must remain always on the edge when it comes to
designing, in that way we could gain more clients. I am inspired by the two speakers, and
somehow made me realized something, there’s a part of me that is saying that I
want to be a front-end Web developer but still I know that I must train more
and study harder so that I will become more successful.
Today’s generation is too hectic
when it comes to graphic designs, clients are very selective about their
desires. Sometimes, clients tends to be
more demanding and wants you as the graphic designer to be both “artist” &
“designer”, which is a slight burden to those front-end developers and graphic
designers. But it is a challenge for the
graphic designers to be more extreme and creative on their design and be more
competitive from the other graphic designers and front-end web developers.
As an Information Technology
student, I am trying to learn a lot from the net. I look at the work of other elite front-end
web and back-end web developer as my references, and I really learned a lot
from them. One of my learnings in the
field of Front-End web development is the “Materialize”. I like to learn more about it because I was
amazed by the website’s dynamic ground when attach by materialize codes. The web becomes more entertaining to the
users because there’s a lot of designs.
Somehow I can say that there is a
tiny voice in my mind saying that I will engage in Front-End Web development as
my field of work but for now I can say that I must study more because as I
listen from Ms. Shennan, there are still a lot of things that I don’t know when
it comes to front-end development and graphic designs. I will just focus now on strengthening my
“photoshop” skills and coding skills because it will be an essential factors
for this kind of work.
Third Speaker
Doc Banana – (Institute of
Computing Alumnus)
Like the other speakers, I was
inspired by the third speaker because of their works as a student. He is a fresh graduate last 2014, I have read
their award-winning technoprenuership idea.
They give outstanding awards to the University of Southeastern
Philippines. I was challenge by his
achievements, I know that we have shared the same struggle as a student, he
survived, and for me that’s enough motivation to graduate from Institute of
Computing. I will graduate no matter
what.
Start-Up Pitching Competition
(Technoprenuership 1)
The Start-Up Competition &
Hackathon is our requirement to comply our INC in our subject Technopreneurship
under Mr. Randy S. Gamboa. We’ve been
preparing since last year for this event because we want to get our grades from
this subject but we know that it is not easy because Mr. gamboa already said
that we must give our best to win on this competition, it is not all about the
grade, it’s about the learning that we will gain from this competition.
We were all required to have our
pitch, I admit that I was so nervous before the competition, but I just keep in
mind that I need to do this no matter what.
I was in the group 1 cluster, there are 5 groups and on each group there
must be 2 qualifiers for the top 10. I can’t
believe when the announcement for the top 10 was released, with humbleness, I
was selected first and I am so shocked because I didn’t expect to get on the
top 10 list. I know that it’s a great
opportunity to promote my idea so I just give my best no matter what. Sad to say, I didn’t win the competition but
to be on the top 10 is something to be proud of. I can’t believe that my “TechVoice” idea will
get on top. So here’s the photos from
the event:
APPENDIX
What
can I recommend for the improvement of the advance seminar program of USEP?
I just
recommend to have a seminar about “Back-end Web Development” so that the
students will have knowledge about how the back end programs done on a
particular website. And also more
pitching competition so that the students will become more knowledgeable enough
to do pitching competition.
My
advised to those who will take their advance seminar program in the near
future.
My
advice is to make that you will join the seminar because it will help you to
discover what your strength really is and also you will learn a lot from the speaker’s
experiences from their industry.
