What I like?
During last July 4 Saturday Technopreneurship 1 meet up, I came to school in a hurry
because I am going to be late if I will just walk slowly due to I woke up late
around 7:40 am and the class start at 8:00 am.
I am glad that I am not late, I was just right in time and have a good
seat in front but what annoy me are my printed papers for our assignment about
the innovations on the four establishments specifically the school, hotel,
shopping malls and fast-food chain was left on the table inside our home. I was so stressed when I remember that I have
forgot the printed papers because if I will not pas it during that meet up then
I will be dead. My classmates are
telling me that it is okay because some of my classmates did not bring their
own printed papers too but I said no it is okay, it was so clear when our
facilitator said that we must pass all of his requirements on or before the
deadline. I want to go back home at that
time, I want to freeze the clock and run so fast so that I could my assignment,
in my mind I was so depressed that my hard work and effort on making that
twenty pages innovation will come to waste and mean nothing if I will not pass
it. But suddenly Mr. Gamboa appeared
inside the atmosphere of the computer laboratory 2 and starts his class right
away. My heart during that time is
beating so fast, it feels like it is going to burst because I am expecting that
the first activity that our facilitator Mr. Gamboa will do is to make us report
our own innovations one by one in front of the class. I calm myself and pray that Mr. Gamboa will
somehow forget the assignmentand will command us to make some activity and then
boom! Our facilitator asked us to get
one whole sheet of paper then I was relieved from the stressed that I feel due
to that diversion activity. So our
facilitator have conducted his first and only quiz last July 4 that worth five
thousand points, we were so shocked because we don’t what we will going to
answer because he has not given any lectures yet. Our facilitator asked the one whole sheet of
paper and the sad news is the majority of the class did not have their own
yellow paper and I am one of them. I scan my laptop bag to see if there is any
sheet of paper left but there is none so I tried to ask to my classmate Mikee
to give some piece of paper but what Mr. Gamboa instructed is a money-getter. Mr. Gamboa said that to any one that will ask
a piece of paper then they must have to pay twenty pesos for every one piece of
paper. My goodness I don’t have enough
money that time, I’ve only got only fifty pesos from my mother and some coins
in my pocket, so in order to have a one piece of paper for the one and only
quiz of Mr. Gamboa I pay twenty pesos.
My classmate said no I don’t have to pay but Mr. Gamboa also warned
those ones who have their own paper that if they are not going to take the
money then Mr. Gamboa will give some punishments. We were all laughing because we were aware
that our money are just enough for us to survive the whole day in our school. So we started the quiz, Mr. gamboa gives his
first instruction which is to write our names, so most of my classmate write
away their names on the yellow paper but what makes them wild is the first
instruction of Mr. Gamboa is not done yet, it has a continuation which is to
write our surnames at the bottom left of the yellow paper follow by a comma and
make sure that the yellow paper has no erasures. Those of my classmates who rapidly write
their names change their paper and buy again another piece of paper and pay
each one costing twenty pesos each. So
sad because it seems like just another buying of paper then they will be
bankrupt and will walk along the way to their own homes. Luckily I did not write away my name, I have
waited all his intructions to finished so that I can do it right. The second instruction of Mr. Gamboa is to
write our first names on the paper, my classmates have learned the lesson that
we must not be in hurry taking the instruction so they did not write away their
names. The second instructions
continuation is to write our first names at the bottom right of the paper. The third instruction is to write our middle
names at the upper center of the paper.
I have done the first stage of the quiz without buying another piece of
paper, I am happy to make it but I am a bit sad to feel the pockets of my
classmates who did not follow the instructions so well because they have buy a
lot of papers and pay a lot.In our quiz we have two stages to take, we have finished
the first stage by writing those, and the second stage is to draw 9 dots in the
middle center of the yellow paper. But
before he let us draw the nine dots, he said that we have to bring out our blue
inked ball pen, we must use it to draw the nine dots. My goodness I don’t have blue inked ball pen
because I don’t like it, I am very used to of using black pens ever since
elementary days. What areworsening the scenario are those who have their extra
blue ball pen they must have to sell it for fifty pesos to those who does not
have blue pens. Damn, I am wasted, I
don’t have a blue ball pen and now I have to buy. Luckily the majority of the class does not
have blue pens so Mr. Gamboa decided to let us use the black pens to draw the
nine dots. So we draw the nine dots at
the center of the paper. Mr. Gamboa
gives his instructionon what to do with those 9 dots arranged in three columns
by three rows. Mr. Gamboa that the
second quiz will be a logic type quiz, he instruct that we must have to connect
all the nine dots without lifting our black pens. I love logic games and puzzles so I guess
that I will not have a hard time finding out the formula on solving the quiz
but I am wrong because while the quiz is going on, it is getting harder to
think on how to solve it. Mr. Gamboa
gives us almost 5 minutes to solve the logic game of the nine dots. I was looking to my classmates, they
scratching their heads because they don’t expect that the quiz will be like
that. I made my first try to solve the
nine dots on a scratch paper so that I will have no erasure on the yellow
paper. I have tried a lot of attempts to
connect the dots but there is no good result because it took me five strokes to
connect those dots. Along with the
instruction of Mr. Gamboa he added that we must only use four strokes. It took me five trials and attempts to solve
the logic game. I have finished the
second stage of the quiz before the time ends.
Then Mr. Gamboa checked the attendance list to look for someone who will
first attempt to solve the logic game, it was Mr. PocholoZoiloRecto who Mr.
Gamboa called out to go first but he did not know the answer so Mr. Gamboa call
again someone. It was Ms. Estrella Grace
Pansacala who seconded the attempt but the same with Mr. Recto they don’t know
the answer so Mr. Gamboa opens the call to everyone who knows the answer to
come in front and draw the solution.
There were only two of us that time who raise our hands but it was the
other guy who answered because he was too near at the white board and can
easily get the white markers so I let him.
We have the same pattern of answer on how to connect the nine dots with
only four strokes without lifting the ball pens. I am happy to finish the quiz without any
mistakes, for those of my classmates who have failed many times, try again and
again next time.
In my whole life at school it was my
first time to take that kind of quiz. It
is a kind of quiz that has so many complicated instructions. But this quiz teaches us a whole lot of
lessons about taking an instruction and how to make money in a simple type of
business. What I like in this quiz is it
reminds me to take instructions wisely; I must not be on a hurry so that I can
avoid any mistakes. I can see how my
classmates being so frustrated about the quiz because they have wasted so many
papers and a lot of money. It is all due
to their tactless moves, they did not wait to Mr. Gamboa finish his
instructions. I believe that Mr. Gamboa
was just testing us on how are we going to take simple instructions and how are
we going to handle stress and pressures.
This quiz teaches me not only on how to take a quiz but also I can incorporate
the lessons that I have learned from that quiz to my personal decisions in
life. It reminds me that I must not make
mistakes and always follow instructions in a right way. It is also a reminder for us aspiring
technopreneurs that we must follow instructions especially now that we are
going to enter a competition at the Smart Sweep to be held at the Manila City. In the subject Technopreneurship we have a
lot of rules and instructions that we must have to follow so that we can win
every requirement that Mr. Gamboa will throw to us. This quiz teaches us on how to become more
sharp and wise on taking instructions.
This quiz also teaches us how to become a business man in a simple way
but will surely bring us a lot of money.
In our quiz we must buy a one piece of paper for twenty pesos to use, to
those students who do not have papers then we are force to buy no matter what
price or the cost of a one paper just to make sure that we can do the quiz. We have no choice but to buy even if it is
very against the will of me to pay twenty pesos because if I only got the
chance to go out before we start the quiz, I can buy it for only one peso for
three pieces of yellow paper. But what I
realized from that scenario in our quiz is, if we have a product which everyone
in the world really needs then that product no matter what the price is it will
be all sold out. In our case, the yellow
paper is our most needed product by that time so we are too please to buy it,
lucky for those classmates of mine that has a lot of papers because they have a
lot of incomes, I asked one of my classmate for the total of his income, she
answered “it has a total of one hundred forty pesos!” Wow! Imagine if I am doing that kind of
business since I was in high school until now in college; imagine the amount of
money that I can earn from those papers worth twenty pesos each. This scenario teaches me how to make a
product that will surely have a big income; I must think of a product that
everyone must need. That quiz is very
symbolic because it opens our eyes to reality of this world. As an aspiring technopreneur, I must think of
an idea that will solve real world problems, I must think of a real solution
with that problem. Proposing an idea is too
hard because it must meet the standards of what a good quality of products is. Every time I remember that quiz it always
makes me smile, I must say that I am thankful to take that quiz.
But most of all, what I like in our
meeting is, Mr. Gamboa have said that we will not going to pitch our
innovations on the four establishments, instead we are going to make it by
3:00pm afternoon at the same computer laboratory 2 after his class for the “masteral
students”. I am so happy to hear that
announcement because I will have a time to go back home and get my printed
papers and also I can have a time to practice my pitching of ideas in front of
the class. But what I like the most during our meeting last July 4 is, Mr.
Gamboa instructed those students who have earned money from the papers to
returns it to the owners. Well I admit
that I was so happy because if Mr. Gamboa did not make that decision then I
will have no money to buy my lunch and I will walk my way back home, it will be
too pity on me. My classmate gives back
my twenty pesos and we live happily ever after.
After we dismiss in Mr. Gamboa’s class, it was still so early so my
friends and I have decided to stay a bit of time inside the laboratory to
document our new ideas. Those 3 hours of meeting is worth to attend because I
have acquired a lot of knowledge and wisdom to my professor Mr. Gamboa. He teaches us ways and techniques on how to
become more solid and a productive technopreneurs. He teaches us that we can earn a lot of money
in simple ways if we only choose to use our brains. To think and think, never stop to think of
any wild ideas because we don’t know what that idea could bring us to our
lives. He always inspires us in so many
ways though he is giving a lot of thousand words reflection we are still
thankful after all because it teaches how to use our minds and teach us how to
elaborate more our own ideas so that if the time will come that we will have to
submit requirements regarding the ideas then it will be too easy for us to make
a number of pages printed paper works. I
am very thankful to Mr. Gamboa as our facilitator in our subject I.T Electives
--Technopreneurship 1.
What I like least?
Last July 4 Saturday
Technopreneurship 1 meet up is the deadline for us to pass our idea innovation
to the four establishment specifically on school, shopping mall, hotel and fast
food chain; each establishment requires five pages per innovation. During the time Mr. Gamboa gave us the
assignment, I was so shocked about the number of pages per innovation because I
never expect of it and I can’t trust myself to the possibility that I can
finish the assignment on time because technopreneurship is not the only subject
that I have this first semester of the school year, I have five subject all in
all and in each subject we have a lot of works.
But I know that I can’t complain because I don’t have any power to
complain, all we have is just the motto of the most famous athletic Store Brand
which is the Nike wherein there saying is “Just do it”. Just do it, it is all that we can do and just
believe that this will help us someday at the future when we will going to have
our works. I am willing to admit that I
am having hard times doing this all but every time that I am in the middle of
number of words required, I am more encourage and energies to finish the pages. During our morning meeting in the subject
Technopreneurship 1, I was just so lucky that Mr. Gamboa did not push the
discussion about the innovations on the four establishments because if he did
then I am sure that I will get a failing grade on this subject. Our facilitator Mr. Gamboa announced at the
end of our class quiz that we will have the pitching of ideas at 3:00pm at the
same place at Computer Laboratory 2. So
we were all relieved to our nervousness because we are all not ready to take
the pitching, but I guess that to the entire student inside that laboratory
that time is I am the luckiest one because I can have the chance to go back
home and get my forgotten innovation assignment. I have my soft copy of the twenty pages in my
laptop but I can’t afford to spend another money to have a new copy of the
innovations because I don’t have enough money by that time and I don’t want to
barrow any money from my classmates. I
really don’t like the scenarios happened after our class because there are bad
things that have happened to me. When I
went back home I feel so dizzy and my head aches a lot due to the hot weather. I don’t really like how my head goes in
circle and I can’t practice my pitch, I don’t have a choice but to rest first
for a while to restore my strength. I
did not and just sleep right away, my plan is just to sleep for one hour so
that I can have hours for practicing my pitching of ideas but sad to say, when
I woke up it is quarter to 3:00pm. I
woke up late due to I have taste a good sleep and rest; I was in a hurry to eat
and pack up my bag so that I can catch our class. I almost forgot to bring again the printed
papers of innovation, I just thank God that I have remember the place where I
put it. I ran so fast straight to the riding
station just a hundred steps from our house and run again straight to the
University of Southeastern of the Philippines after the ten minutes ride to
school. So to sum up the story, I catch
the class, I got there before the class starts and have a bit of time to scan
my printed papers. I was so nervous and
wish that I was not the first one to present so that I can ready myself in
front of the classmates and also can ready myself from any question that will
be thrown to me. I don’t know what to
feel that time, a minute before the pitching of ideas will start I prayed to
the Lord God almighty a blessing of wisdom so that I can stand up with
confidence, I was relieve with my prayer because I know that God is with me all
the time. As I saw Mr. Randy S. Gamboa
approaching the premises of the Institute of Computing Computer Laboratory 2, I
announced it to my class mates a then we hurry to get inside the computer
laboratory 2. We were so quite during
that time because we admit that we are so intimidated to the presence of Mr.
Randy S. Gamboa, we really respect Mr. Gamboa as our facilitator in
Technopreneurship 1. All our mouth were
all close, we are just in focus to our innovations and practicing silently our
pitching. Mr. Gamboa entered the
computer laboratory 2 and then asks the presence of the technopreneurship day
class Ms. Sharlene to ask if there is any other available classroom to conduct
that pitching of ideas or innovations.
So Ms. Sharlene come so fast in front and told Sir Gamboa that the
computer laboratory 1 is occupied by the class of Mr. Reyes and they are
occupying it until 7:00 pm. Mr. Gamboa went
to the receiving desk of the Computer Laboratory 2 to think of a way so that
the pitching of ideas will be push through because we have a deadline to
follow, we have a deadline to submit our good ideas. So Sir Gamboa decided that the pitching of
our ideas will be conducted at the fifth floor of the Engineering building, so
we students go out of the computer laboratory 2 and started walking straight up
stairs to the room 505 at the fifth floor of the building but before we left
the room, there was a sudden change of mind of Mr. Gamboa, he decided to cancel
the pitching of ideas and we will have it on Monday and we must be at the
computer laboratory 1 before 8:00 am so that we can ready our reports. We are not happy with the decision but we
don’t have any choice to provoke because it was his decision. We are not happy because we have our own
classes from other subjects by Monday; if we will not come then our grades to
other subjects will be compromise. Some
of my classmates approach this problem to Mr. Gamboa but still the plan will be
conducted no matter what because it is only his free time. We understand the schedule of Mr. Gamboa
because he is a busy man. My mind was
separated in two things due to the scenario, in my mind it was good that the
pitching of ideas is cancelled so that we will have long enough time to
practice more our speech deliberation so that we can really convince and
persuade Mr. Gamboa that our ideas are so good and it can be commercialized. In my second thought, the scenario is not
good because we will be late in our deadline and our subjects on Monday will be
compromise, of course I don’t want to fail to my other subjects. We don’t know what to say or to do during
that time because at the first place our money used to fare back again at
school was wasted and second thing is our pitching of ideas was cancelled.
A lot of things happened during our
July 4 2015 technopreneurship meet up.
Things that we did not expect to happen at all. But after all of these scenarios, I have
learned a lot of things that I can incorporate in the field of
technopreneurship. I want to share what
I have learned last July 4 meeting. I
don’t know what to write anymore, my brain is starting to drain out words now
so I am going to share now what I have learned and hope you like it.
First, I must always be ready on my
things to present to the professors. I
must always remember every requirement.
This attitude will not only help me to pass subjects at school but also
this can help me to make me a more always ready technopreneur. We aspiring technopreneur must always come
ready to any meetings that we will have at the future so that we can avoid any
bad things and also if we are ready then the clients or customers will like our
services. I have learned my lesson last
July 4 so I will never make it happen again on my future class in
technopreneurship 1 and also to all my other subjects so that I can pass them
all because I really want to graduate now in college life. So through technopreneurship, I can have the
chance to succeed through technological business. I must possess the attitudes of the army
people, to be always ready for any battle on the field. Technopreneurship class is not just a subject;
this is our way or path to success in life.
We must all be very ready in everything.
Second, we must be always adaptive to everything that will happen to our
environment. So as I write all the
scenarios happened last July 4 there are a lot of things happened, things that
affect my life. I must be adaptive to
the environment because it will help me to develop my skills in
technopreneurship. If we know what kind
of ground that we are revolving with then it will be our weapon to make new
ideas and innovation that can help the society and also the entire world. If we learn on how to adapt then we can
easily think of things on how to solve any problem that might occur. Third, I must stop complaining. There are a lot of things that happened last
July 4, things that comes with lessons.
We students must stop complaining to the things that we encounter in our
class which we think that is some kind of not in our favors. We students should always look at the
brighter side of the story. We should be
thankful for everything. Fourth, always
follow rules. It is important for all
the students to follow instructions because it is a mandate but of course we
must follow those rightful instructions.
Our Professor Mr. Gamboa is very clear on giving instruction to his
students which is a good thing for us. A
good technopreneur know how to follow instructions. We must follow instruction because it will
guide us to do the right thing. Fifth,
always think of a plan ahead of time. We
all need this type of ability so that we will have good results for our future
plans. It is always good to always have
a contingency plan on our actions because it will keep us safe and we can avoid
any troubles.
I strongly believe that everything
happens for a reason, what happened last July 4 have a reason. I actually have a band rehearsal during that
afternoon meet up but I have a priority which is my school so I don’t and never
regret to go there at school. We
aspiring technopreneurs should always be an open minded person for businesses. Businesses that can really give a great fortune
to us technopreneurs, but also businesses that could also help others. I believe that we have Mr. Gamboa is with us
for a reason. I have learned that
technopreneurship comes from entrepreneurship but it has some modification
because there will be a use of pure technology in technopreneurship world. What I also like is that in technopreneurship
there are a lot of opportunities and chances to become a successful business
man without having capital money, all we need in technopreneurship to start in
this business are our own unique ideas.
I admit that Mr. Gamboa is the best for being a facilitator.
It is not really that I have some
dislikes during our meeting because there is no really things that I don’t like
during the July 4, 2015 meet up. If
there is something that I don’t like during that day is the fact that I was so
stupid for forgetting my important printed papers to be passed during that day.
I should be starting of a good or more
over is a great idea that will surely win the SMART SWEEP competition because
all of us now were so pressured of our tasks to be on top 10. I can’t blame it because the winners of the
last year’s competition were all coming from the University of Southeastern
Philippines from the Institute of Computing information technology course. I feel so honored to be a part of an
institute which bring success and honor to the school. I have a dream now to be the next big winner
so that I can say to myself that I can really do change the world through
technology and also I want to make my parents proud. I together with my classmates we were all
doing all our best just to pass a great ideas, we want to double the awards the
university have acquired. It is a very
big challenge to all of us because we have a lot of things to do not just this
but I believe to ourselves that we really can do this no matter what will
happen. If there is also a thing which I
don’t like during that day is the realization of I must keep away all of the
things that I loved to do during free time because I must do all the reflections. I admit it that in the first place I was a
bit annoyed but the more I do it the more I understand how important to set
priorities. School is my number one
priority now because I really want to graduate on the year 2017 and hopefully
everything will cooperate and ma the force be with me and also to my
classmates. My parents are my motivation
now and inspirations, I don’t want to let them down. I want to make them happy and pay back all of
their sacrifices for me. I want to find
a way to lift them up to a life with pleasures and enjoy life more because they
were getting older now. I want to keep
up my grades now and have no fail, it was already one year now that I don’t
have any failing grade so I want to keep that record, have no failing grade until
graduation day. There is no thing that I
don’t like and if there is, it just like I don’t care about it and I can live
without it in my life. I am starting to
love technopreneurship now and I want to do anything just to become a
successful technopreneur at the future and have a better life and also help
other people.
